Tania was like a coiled spring. She had to hunt. She had to get some aggression out of her system. Leaving her art materials behind, she grabbed some spare weapons from the boot of her car, and set off in the direction of a local pub. She would listen to stories from the townsfolk until she could decipher exactly where the rogue werewolves might be located.

She found a target sooner than expected. As she entered the small ancient pub that overlooked the harbour, her skin tingled ominously as her magic recognized that of a wolf. Hesitating just inside the door, she looked around the tiny room, taking in the wooden fireplace and corner bar, and the six occupants, all staring at her curiously. There were four men and two women. One of the men was a werewolf. He stared at her, and his nostrils flared as he scented her magic. His lip curled in a low growl, and Tania clenched her jaw, calling him out with her defiant stare. The man stood up slowly and advanced upon her without a word. She stepped back outside and waited for him to join her. He followed her up a narrow path onto the cliff top overlooking the village. There was a coppice of trees up here, and Tania hoped it would provide enough cover for her to kill the wolf.

Happy Halloween! Are You Ready for #NaNoWriMo?

Boo! Scared you!

Ha ha, yes we are celebrating my favourite time of year, Halloween, or Samhain as I prefer to call the festival. See my pagan housewife blog for more about that.

Today I am hosting a Halloween party for my daughters and their friends, so we have decorated the house, stocked up on treats, planned the games and got our fancy dress ready. At the weekend we attended a big family party in our town and it was lots of fun as always.

Halloween heralds the arrival of another annual event that has become a staple in my life: #NaNoWriMo. Are you participating this year? Shall we be writing buddies? Look me up if you like, my NaNo name is SpookyMrsGreen. I haven’t really planned for the event this year since I’ve been busy with domestic challenges. I was going to use this NaNoWriMo as the opportunity to write book 6 in my Redcliffe Novels series, but I got a bit overexcited and already started writing that at the beginning of October. Instead I have decided to start a brand new novel, the sequel to Vampire of Blackpool. I have no idea where it is going or what will happen. I am a true pantser. Here’s to #NaNoWriMo 2017!

Have you discovered the Redcliffe novels? Sign up today, and receive your fabulous FREE book to get you started… (be warned, my vampires do not sparkle, and my wolves will bite!)

Coming Soon: The Vampire of Blackpool by Catherine Green

I have some exciting news! My next novel is finally ready to publish. It is has been very long in the process, mainly due to the fact that I had my second baby just under 3 years ago, and I have been more than a little distracted by motherly duties. Well, I never stopped writing, and very soon you can see the finished result. The Vampire of Blackpool is available for preorder right now, go and get it!

Meredith Hanson lives in Blackpool, the former Victorian holiday hotspot of Northern England. She masquerades as a reclusive author, feeding on the blood of unsuspecting tourists without remorse. Her life takes on new meaning when she meets a young witch in a local pub one evening. Despite Meredith’s cold demeanour, she finds herself oddly fascinated with Samantha Morris, and falls into an accidental relationship with the girl. It is at this time that a vampire hunter arrives in Blackpool. He is tough, he is determined, and his next target is an ancient vampire that has been spotted in the tourist town. He intends to bring her down and destroy her to save the lives of innocent humans. Will he succeed? Or will the experienced vampire seductress be the cause of his undoing?

In the meantime you can read my brand new contemporary adult fairytale: The Wolf and the Fairy. Available to download now in most digital formats.
