Alice R Bishop says: “I have always been a
keen reader and from the age of eight I could read most things. During my
school years I always had on my report card for English ‘Alice has a wonderful
imagination, I wish she would stop daydreaming and put her imagination onto
paper.’
“For many years I have wanted to be an
author, but it wasn’t until Covid-19 lock down hit did I really give it a go.
The stress of coping with the lockdown amongst many things caused me to have a
flare up with my fibromyalgia, but even with this I struggled forward writing
my manuscript. A few times I nearly gave up, my body hurt and my brain felt
like it had cotton wool inside of it, but I managed to complete it.
“I also have a son with ASD who makes
my world brighter every day, part of the reason I stuck with writing even
though I have plenty of ‘nay sayers’ is because I want to show him that dreams
should be followed and worth achieving.”
