Hump Day Hook Returns with a Bite! #HDH
I am very happy to rejoin the Hump Day Hook crew this month, and what better time of year to showcase my beloved creatures of the night? Today I share with you an excerpt from my latest novel The Darkness of Love…
Marcus stirred slowly. He blinked and opened his eyes, wondering what had happened and where he was. His mind was strangely empty. He did not feel drunk, and he did not feel ill. But he wasn’t sure what these strange sensations were. He was lying on a sofa. He sat bolt upright when he realised it was in Lord Stockton’s study. He sensed another presence in the room, and his eyes alighted on the still figure of Amelia Richmond, watching him from her seat on the adjacent sofa. She was smiling, and Marcus’ heart skipped a beat and started pounding.
“My Lady,” he gasped, leaping off the sofa, “Why am I here? What happened?”
Amelia continued to stare at him. There was something unnatural about the way she sat, something inhuman. Slowly, Marcus remembered what had happened.
“I drank his blood,” he whispered, touching his lips, “He is a monster.”

The Female of the Species is Deadly
It occurs to me that I haven't shared any excerpts from my novels for a while, so in the spirit of the new year and my current feisty mood, here is a seductive snippet from my latest novel The Darkness of Love...
Gregory nodded, keeping his cool silver gaze fixed on her black eyes. He tried so hard to ignore his Mistress’ advances, but he could never refuse her. He belonged to her, and he was not strong enough to break free.
“Yes,” he said, “I am sure he will be compliant, for he is a man with vigorous appetites, or so I hear from the villagers. He has a reputation among the workers’ daughters.”
Amelia smiled and nodded, her eyes glowing with excitement. She licked her lips, and her eyes showed a glimmer of fire, deep in the pupils. She was a contradiction of everything the vampires knew about themselves. She burned with both fire and ice, and no-one could escape her trap when she set it.
“I will not disappoint my oldest friend.” she said simply.

The Darkness of Love Book Tour #PurpleXmas
It is very exciting for me this Christmas. Not only am I celebrating it with the newest addition to our family, our baby daughter Georgina (4 months), but I am celebrating the release of The Darkness of Love with a fabulous international book tour! And even better, I don't have to leave home, because my book is touring via the amazing power of global media. A huge thank you goes out to my publisher Chances Press, and to Literary Nook for organizing the event. Check out the tour information here, and I look forward to seeing you during December while I am on my travels... Merry Christmas!

A Vampire Kiss in 'The Darkness of Love' #HDH
Hello and welcome to the Hump Day Hook. I am preparing for publication of my fourth novel later this year, and so here is an excerpt from The Darkness of Love. This story is set in Victorian England, and is a tale of vampire tricks, power games and lusty encounters…
Amelia smiled
and gestured to Gregory as she spoke.
“My
good friend, Lord Stockton,” she said, “requires sustenance, Martha.”
The
maid nodded and turned towards Gregory awaiting her instructions. She kept her head down, trying to be as
inconspicuous as possible. Gregory sat
up straight in a smooth, fluid motion, and he fixed his intense gaze on the
young maid.
“Come
closer, child,” he said, “let me see your face.”
Martha
moved slowly closer to the sofa, clearly nervous but too frightened to
object. She stood still, trembling
slightly, as Gregory cupped a finger under her chin and raised her face to his. She stood transfixed by his hypnotic gaze,
her arms falling loosely to her sides.
Amelia moved to stand beside the maid, watching Gregory.
He
gently tilted Martha’s head to one side, revealing the unblemished, delicate
line of her youthful neck, and the beating veins beneath her skin. He opened his mouth, revealing fangs, and
slowly moved in to bite the maid. She
cried out, her body stiffened, and then she fell limp in his arms, swooning
with shock as he drank her blood.
Amelia raised the girl’s arm, revealed her wrist, and broke her skin,
licking the blood sensuously, fixing her eyes on Gregory as she fed. The two vampires watched each other as they
sucked the rich, warm blood of the helpless servant.
