#CyberMonday Book Deals for Christmas

The end is nigh for #NaNoWriMo2016 and I must say I will be glad to see the back of November. It has been a long and arduous month, and not because of the crazed writing challenge. Personal circumstances have intervened to cause exhaustion, but I hope that it will improve during the next few weeks.

Anyway, today is #CyberMonday, a day when all the big brands offer more discounts and sales to Christmas shoppers. I would like you to consider my novels for your Christmas shopping list. Perhaps you enjoy reading Gothic stories set in Cornwall? How about sexy vampires and werewolves from Dublin? Then check out Love Hurts (A Redcliffe Novel), which is currently only 99p (or 99c) to download on Kindle.

In the meantime, I will finish off my #NaNoWriMo project for this year, which will conclude most of the first draft for book 5 in my Redcliffe novels series. You can find the first 3 novels for sale online, and I plan to release books 4, 5 and 6 to complete the series. I look forward to seeing your reviews!

I’m at 40K and Feeling Epic! #NaNoWriMo

Ha ha, did you recognise my TV commercial reference? Well, the month of #NaNoWriMo is flying by, and today we celebrate my husband’s birthday. I say we. I mean me. He is being very miserable and grumpy, even though he is only 35. That is not old!

Anyway, never mind him, I will celebrate with some fizzy wine and a bit of chocolate, because my #NaNoWriMo challenge is almost complete and I can taste the sweet smell of success. How is your #NaNoWriMo coming along?

Halfway Towards 50K #NaNoWriMo

I am half way there and feeling quietly confident about #NaNoWriMo 2016. My novel is progressing slowly and steadily. I find that I can write it in short chapters, and while I generally have no idea of what I am about to write when I sit before the computer, somehow the words spill out and the prose dislodges from its hiding place in the depths of my mind. How is your #NaNoWriMo coming along?

A Slow and Steady Start to #NaNoWriMo2016

Just a brief update today since I am well on the way to completing #NaNoWriMo2016 and I am powering through! Well, ok, I am plodding through at the moment, but I am happy with my progress and that’s the main thing. I have broken the 15k barrier and plan to hit 25k words halfway through November, keeping me on track to succeed. How is your #NaNoWriMo progressing?

Thinking back to 2015, and by this time I was in a very different place with my writing. I was reeling from the death of my beloved Nanna, and keeping my focus on the writing in her memory. She was so very proud of my author achievements! I still miss her, and even now I feel tearful when I remember her loss. But I have over 30 years of happy memories to treasure with my grandparents, and so I count my blessings. Happy writing, my friends!

Inspired by the Seaside #amwriting

Ah, the seaside! Such a lovely place. We are fortunate to live within driving distance of many beautiful, sandy beaches along the British coast. Our favourite family destination is Talacre Beach in North Wales. It is dog friendly all year round, there is a quirky old lighthouse that always fires my imagination, and the beach is surrounded by sand dunes to explore. Every time we visit I come home feeling refreshed and invigorated. Wading into the shallow waves along the shore, feeling the cold sea water wash over my feet, I drink in the natural healing powers of the ocean. And then I walk across the soft sand, allowing it to warm my feet and tickle my toes. Bliss!

It is no surprise that most of my novels are set in seaside locations. TheRedcliffe novels, for example, are set in a fictitious holiday town in Cornwall. The location was inspired many years ago when we used to holiday down there at a friends’ hotel. I spent many hours wandering along the beach, exploring the working harbour, and climbing higher up to look out over the bay, all the while picturing my werewolves and vampires hunting around the area.

More recently I turned my attentions to a classic Victorian seaside holiday destination. Blackpool is a town with a chequered past, to say the least. It was established by the Victorians as a place to visit the sea, take in the fresh air, and revive the senses after long, hard days spent working in the industrial factories of the North of England. Nowadays, Blackpool draws in crowds of families, and it is a popular destination for hen parties and stag parties (I had my hen weekend there, years ago!). Read The Vampire of Blackpool for my take on contemporary English Gothic, and see what you think.

Books in the Boatyard at Middlewich FAB Festival

This week is very exciting because we are preparing for the annual Middlewich Folk and Boat festival, and this year I am very pleased to announce that I will be exhibiting my books in the boatyard! Come and see me at Middlewich Narrowboats on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June. I will be floating about (not in the canal, I hope), although I do have Rose Fete parade duties with my daughters on the Saturday morning and there is lots happening all around the town to keep everyone busy. Suffice to say, I will be around, and I hope you will be too. See you at #MFAB!

For more details about the Middlewich Folk and Boat festival, see the official website, where you can find listings for music events, visiting celebrities, entertainment, shopping, camping and more.

Meet the Pagan Housewife at Crewe Alexandra FC

I am getting out there again! This socializing thing is becoming a bit of a habit, and I have to say I rather enjoy it. You can meet me, Catherine Green, aka the Pagan Housewife, at Crewe Alexandra Football Club this Bank Holiday weekend. It is really easy to get there by train or car, since the stadium is right behind the train station and about 10 minutes drive from the M6 motorway.

On Saturday 28th May I will be talking about British Paranormal Romance, my writing process, and showcasing my novels, including the official launch of The Vampire of Blackpool. Come and join me if you love reading, love to write, and love to support your local Indie book scene.

On Sunday 29th May I will be talking as SpookyMrsGreen, the Pagan Housewife, and sharing tales of my ghost hunting adventures, my pagan lifestyle, and being an eco-conscious parent. Both talks are in the Pink Room at 2:15pm, and there are lots of other talks and workshops happening throughout the weekend.

See you in Crewe!

Thank You for a Magickal Weekend

Hello my friends, how are you? Today I am preparing to catch up with some work, and I am currently enjoying a week away from home and staying with my Mum. Don't you just love going back home? It is great to catch up with friends and family that you haven't seen for ages, and those memories and new stories offer up some great literary fodder for creative endeavors.

This weekend has been very magickal for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Rosemary Douglas mind, body and spirit event in Stafford. I got to know some of my fellow spiritual seekers a little better, I soaked in the atmosphere and energy of the Spiritualist church where we held the event, and I got to play my didgeridoo! It was wonderful to meet some new friends as well. Did you get your free book yet? No? Well, sign up now and I will send it to you. Enjoy!

A Spiritual Home for the Redcliffe Novels

Last weekend I finally got myself back out on the MBS scene, after an absence of about 2 years (maternity leave). For those of you not in the know, MBS is short for Mind, Body and Spirit. These events are incredibly popular, and a wonderful way for spiritual people to come together and share their messages with others. For a long time, I talked myself out of exhibiting my novels, because I didn’t think they were suitable for the events. Rosemary Douglas, the owner, had other ideas. She can be very persuasive, and I am so glad she talked me into doing this event!

Sometimes we have to step outside our own minds in order to make sense of a situation, or find a new way to do something. While I was at the event, I sold some books, told some new people about my novels and my work, and gave out a few flyers and business cards. I also felt incredibly well rested and relaxed by the end of the day, because I was in my spiritual home. Surrounded by like-minded friends, I soaked in the warm, loving energy of Rosemary’s event, and I cannot wait to return for another one very soon. Why don’t you come and see me next time?

#ValentinesDay New Release! My Vampire Boyfriend (A Redcliffe Story Anthology) #ASMSG

I have a brand new book out on a #ValentinesDay weekend release! This one contains some rather raunchy stories from our favourite vampires, witches and werewolves in Redcliffe, Cornwall. You have been warned...

The pretty seaside town of Redcliffe in Cornwall is a popular location for holidaymakers during the summer season. It has good waves for surfing, good pubs for socialising, and a vibrant tourist industry. It is also home to a hidden werewolf pack, and several vampires and witches, who all live within human society, pretending to be just like the rest of us.

Bookshop owner Jessica Stone used to be one of those humans. Then she met Detective Jack Mason and his twin brother, Danny. They took her on a wild adventure that shows no sign of slowing down. Now she is deeply embedded with the vampires and werewolves, and learning the power of their lust, and a magnetic attraction that is just too hard to ignore. She is also learning about her own true heritage, and how to feed her desires and satisfy her powerful animal familiar that resides within.

This anthology contains adult themes, and scenes of a sexual nature. Order it now from Amazon Kindle.
